Highbury View

Completed: 2017
Number of homes: 40

Highbury View is BHA’s sheltered housing on Highbury Fields. The scheme was transferred to BHA from Crown Simmons HA in 2017.

Highbury View was built in the 18th century and has a fascinating history. Previously the site of a hospital, it was also the home of Sir Francis Ronalds in 1796, a well-known meteorologist and pioneer of the electric telegraph. A plaque on 1 Highbury Terrace commemorates his life. Highbury View’s adjacent street, Ronalds Road, is also named after the famed inventor.

Highbury View’s facilities include a guest room.
