BHA Gardening Group

BHA Gardening Group are a group of BHA residents with a keen interest in gardening and improving the landscape of the Morland Mews estate.

The BHA Gardening Group come from a range of backgrounds and experiences and believe that activities such as gardening can improve not only the well-being of your surrounding environment but also your own physical well-being.

It is an inclusive group that is open to beginners and experts and welcomes anyone who wants to get involved in activities.

Session 11/09/2018

Rowena, Surya and Diane worked on the raised bed: removed stinging nettles; left foxgloves; cut out dead wood.

We looked at some damage to plants in the curved bed by the pitch and decided that we can look after the two curved beds either side of the gate rather than Alfie Bines

There are spaces in the curved bed by the pitch for a new bush or two, suggestions welcome, here’re two ideas:

• Hippophae rhamnoides – sea buckthorn – needs a male and a female for edible fruit.

• viburnum x bodnantense – very early, great smell.
