BHA Publish Annual Report for Tenants
Our annual report for tenants has highlighted the work of BHA team over the last 12 months.
Words from Chair, Sean McLaughlin:
“This was the year we hoped life would return to normal. Instead we saw the price of food, gas and electricity sky-rocket, along with interest rates. Our response has been driven by the stark choice for growing numbers of you between ‘heating or eating’.
We remain deeply concerned. We had already created a new post for a specialist with expertise in finance and welfare at the end of the previous year. We also boosted our hardship fund and subscribed to a tenant wellbeing service offering free, confidential advice and support on matters as diverse as bereavement counselling and welfare advice. We will very likely need to invest further in small grants and aid ‘in kind’ this year.’
The 2023 Tenant Annual Report focused on:
- Neighbourhood and community.
- Getting your views and opinions on our first engagement plan.
- Recent Policy changes
- Upgrades on Homes and Housing maintenance
- Work we are doing to insulate homes and find a greener way to power homes
- Improvements to Tenant support
- How the Budget was spent in 2022.
