Summer newsletter now out

Exciting news in issue 19 of the summer newsletter for residents that energy efficiency 'retrofitting' works to 76 of our coldest homes start in August, with contractors Purdy signed up to carry out this specialist work.

Our summer newsletter is now out.

Highlights of this issue include news that our energy efficiency retrofitting works begin in early August. Contractors Purdy are expected to spend six months making 76 of our coldest homes warmer before the coldest weather returns. All are homes built in the 1970s.

On page four we’re pleased to report that BHA tenant Serene Anderson is back from work experience in the Caribbean and set to join a business graduate scheme in September.

Serene’s overseas exchange was part funded by our bursary fund, which helps pay for educational activities that boost your chance of landing paid work.Serene graduated with a first class honours degree from Nottingham University last year.

On page five you can read about our plans for this year’s funday on Saturday 31 August. We’ve taken a new approach to this event, now close to its 50th anniversary. It will be a lot more hands-on with staff offering services we clean forgot to put in their job description, like organising a bean bag race.

We very much hope you too can spare some time to join us on the day. The gate opens at 12pm and the entertainment won’t stop until 5pm.
