Universal Credit Workshops

BHA are holding workshops for residents to better understand the impact Universal Credit may have on them.

From 20th June 2018 Universal Credit will be introduced for all new benefit claimants in Islington. This will replace:

  • Housing Benefit
  • Employment Support Allowance
  • Job Seekers Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Child Tax Credits for those under pension age.

If you claim any of these and are of working age you may find you have to claim Universal Credit (UC).

From 2019 the Department of Work & Pensions will start to move everyone of working age on these benefits onto UC. It is therefore important residents understand the impact that the introduction of Universal Credit may have on their income.

We are holding some workshops with Clare, our Income Advisor, to help BHA residents understand how Universal Credit will work.

There will be workshops taking place at 60 Morland Mews, London, N1 1HN on:

  • Wednesday 23rd May 2018 from 2:00pm – 3:30pm
  • Wednesday 6th June from 7:00pm – 8:30pm

There will be a presentation followed by Q&A. Light refreshments will be available.
